When HomeSense Canada asked me to create “holiday” inspired decor with a Christmas theme I was all in to get my tablescaping hat ON.
For someone who grew up only knowing how to host Hanukkah, having the opportunity to work with items such as these was a treat. To be honest, this was the first time I have ever had the chance to decorate a tree and I had no idea what I was doing but I think it turned out pretty darn nice.
Walking through the aisles of HomeSense, which were fully stocked with all the holiday themed merchandise, was like a dream come true.
I had a blast filling my shopping cart with sparkly stars, beautiful tableware, dishes, glassware, linens, accent decor items, tree trimmings, ornaments and my favourite find – this little reindeer who I affectionately named “Annabelle”. She sat perched on my mantle with her cute little feet crossed and behaved very nicely while I took a thousand pictures of her.
When styling this table I starting thinking of unique ways to take my place settings up a notch. What better way to say “Christmas” then by having custom made delicious gingerbread houses on the centre of each guest’s plate?
Now, tell me something. Do you have time to make your own gingerbread houses? Maybe? I know I don’t.
My “go to” place for custom cookies, cakes and treats is ALWAYS at Baked with Joy. These gals have their cookie game down to a science. They never disappoint and this time was no different.
When I picked up my order, I actually squealed. Have you ever seen anything so stunning? COME ON with these.
If you’re looking for the perfect way to entertain your guests this holiday season, head over to your local HomeSense Canada store. Endless possibilities, perfectly priced.
Wishing you all the best for the holidays from my home to yours.
